With the pandemic waning, the DNA of the work culture has changed. People look forward to keeping working from home even if the covid-19 crisis passes. Work from home refers to a hybrid model that facilitates its employees to work from the comfort of their homes. It seems to have been gaining favor among workers and companies. 

As per recent surveys, employees happen to side numerous concerns when it comes to going back to the office. Losing the flexibility of working from home and health worries are some of them. With the DNA of work changing, some organizations happened to adopt flexible work programs.

Concerns About Returning Back to Work

The top concern of the employees about returning back to their tubercles is losing the remote work flexibility. Many are bothered about getting back to their earlier routines. Many also point to some social anxieties. As per studies and surveys conducted in various regions of the world, respondents happen to agree with the greatest perks of the new normal – work from home. 

A woman from Virginia happens to be a paralegal contractor for a federal company who has been working from home since the inception of the covid-19 outbreak and looks forward to proceeding working there for three days a week. Although she felt depressed and isolated for the last few months she is certainly not looking forward to the hassle of commuting again. 

Even though the woman is safely vaccinated, she bothers about traveling in a packed bus, colleagues spreading germs, and the quality of the air conditioning and heating system of the office. According to her, she could also work without the regular hassle of transport highlighting that she is just as productive in her work from home sessions. 

Although most of the respondents would like to continue working from home at least for the time being, many say that their organizations expect all the employees to return back to the office in the upcoming 4 to 6 months and some say that they will require to be back to their offices by the end of 2021. 

What Does Research Say About Work From Home? 

As the United States ramps up covid-19 vaccinations, new research finds that various workers within the United States of America indicate that the employers need to wait for reopening their offices until the vaccines happen to be more widely accessible to employees. As maximum employees are required to take a covid test before returning back to their workplaces, many say that covid testing should be encouraged. 

Lately, various companies have announced their intentions for bringing back the staff who have been working from home over the coronavirus pandemic. It remains in a bid for reinstating the office culture as many employees have remained detached for various months. Goldman Sachs is one of the companies that are likely to remain in the outliner within this approach. 

Whether the upcoming generation will experience the highs and lows of the work culture may or may not depend on numerous factors. Some of them include the country and the industry, apart from the level of consideration the higher authorities will provide to healthy work culture and work-life balance which signifies the physical barrier of the cubicle helping create the same. 

Discrepancy Between Employers and Employees

According to surveys, it was found that maximum employees were pretty much pessimistic. A survey of HR professionals at 130 organizations in December discovered that 90% of them plan to allow employees to work remotely at least for some time even after mass vaccination. On the other hand, 68% of professionals state that a typical employee should remain within the office premises at least 3 days a week for maintaining the distinct organizational culture. 

One of the prominent reasons behind this discrepancy between employers and employees is the communication gap. Among the respondents, approximately 47 % of employees stated that their organizations have not surveyed employees and offered them a platform when it comes to expressing concerns about gauging their interest in returning back to the full-time office culture.
